The national Adult Education Conference was held on February 18-19, 2016 at the University of Jyväskylä, organized by the Finnish Society for Research on Adult Education and the University of Jyväskylä, Faculty of Education. The theme of the conference was Learning, Creativity and Emotions in the Different Fields of Adulthood.

Freedom and Responsibility of Liberal Adult Education (SVV) group organized a thematic group on liberal/popular adult education where e.g. Heikkinen and Pätäri held a joint presentation “Conceptions of Right and Wrong Edification in the History of Finnish Popular Adult Education”, Annika Turunen (ÅAU/SVV) with co-writer Ari Sivenius (UEF/SVV) “Ethnography in Understanding Involvement and Social Inclusion” and Jyri Manninen (UEF/SVV) “Defining Monetary Benefits for Adult Education Centre Studies – Mission Impossible?”.
