The book is an outcome from collaboration initiated by the EquJust-research group, prompted by concerns about fragmentation or even competition between researchers and academics addressing environmental degradation, economic injustice, forced migration and refugees, and gender inequalities, particularly in relation to adult, vocational and higher education, and questioning the possibility to connect agendas of sustainable development and social progress with planetary care for the human and nonhuman environment. It builds on discussions of the themes in a cross-disciplinary group of scholars from Austria, Bangladesh, Estonia, Finland, Germany and Kurdistan Iraq in several seminars, workshops and meetings.
