EquJust members Golaleh Makrooni, Anna Ojapelto and Anja Heikkinen are taking part in ESF funded Komeetta – culturally inclusive mentoring for immigrants -project (1.3.2021-31.7.2023). Komeetta-project aims at promoting the inclusion and employment of migration background men who are outside of labour market. The project is to be implemented by developing peer group activities, by experimenting different mentoring models as support for migrants’ employment and by arranging trainings to professionals about cultural sensitivity. The project is based on co-creation and participatory research which aims at including the target group in planning and developing the project activities.

Researchers are taking part in project’s co-creation process. They are also responsible for the research-based follow-up and evaluation of the project. Golaleh has diverse experience and expertise about the cultural sensitivity in employment and educational issues in cross-cultural context. Anna is familiar with the project topics and has previous experience from similar projects (Catch up with work and EME) and collaboration with the project partners Silta-Valmennus and Työväen Sivistysliitto TSL. Anja, as the leader of EquJust, supports the work of junior researchers Golaleh and Anna based on her great experience and expertise in adult and vocational education as well as migration-related projects.
